The outlines of the embryo 333 were taken from a fresh specimen. Original figure was enlarged 5 times.


Online Editor - Note in the text on arm ossification: "By the 49th day the two centers are fully united, and appear in a single bone 2 mm. long as is shown in an excellent specimen (No. 333)." This should make it a Carnegie stage 18, but its external appearance (limbs, face, ear) is that of a Carnegie stage 23 embryo.
