Der Schnitt geht durch die vordere Hälfte des Thalamus und des Chiasma nervorum opticorum. In der Mitte ist der Ventriculus tertius getroffen, dessen Verlauf durch die Commissura mollis unterbrochen wird. Die Tela chorioidea media bildet die Decke des III. Ventrikels, dann folgen die spitzdreieckigen Querschnitte der Crura fornicis, darüber durch den Plexus chorioideus getrennt die Lame n6vrologique intertrigonale (Dejerine), der Balken durch den Sulcus corporis callosi von der Hemisphärenwand unterscheidbar. Der Boden des III. Ventrikels und seines Recessus opticus ist durch das Chiasma abgeschlossen. Das Vorderhorn des Seitenventrikels zeigt das stark einspringende Corpus striatum, einen Faser zug der inneren Kapsel, den Nucleus letitiformis davon besonders das Putamen. An der lateralen Wand des Hemisphärium ist die Insel getroffen ; der nach unten gerundete und stark nach abwärts vorspringende Abschnitt des Hemisphärium stellt den Schnitt durch den Temporallappen dar. Der Randbogen fehlt noch. Die Wand der Hemisphärenblase zeigt mehrere (fünf) deutlich unterscheidbare Schichteh.
