Der Kopf ist in aufrechte Stellung wie beim Menschen gebracht, um die Betrachtung und den Vergleich mit den Verhältnissen beim Menschenembryo zu erleichtem. Die Labyrinthblasen, die Riechgrube, das Auge und das Gehirn sind angegeben, ebenso die Kiemenbogen. Vom Truncus arteriosus ziehen die sechs Aortenbogen dorsalwärts, um die Wand des Kopfdarms herum, eingeschlossen in die Kiemenbogen und münden in die Seitenwand ,der Aorta dorsalis. Der Embryo ist durchsichtig gedacht so wie er es auch in Wirklichkeit ist.
