Human Pronuclear Stage - Pronuclear Envelope

  • The space between the two sheets of the pronuclear envelope is zonally enlarged due to blebbing of the outer sheet toward the cytoplasm (c).
  • Spheroidal or elongated vesicles are contained in these dilated regions.
  • The vesicles are bound by membranes which arc always distinct from the pro- nuclear envelope.
  • The vesicles are similar to the small ER vesicles present in the cytoplasm.
  • They may represent cndoplasmic reticulum components which have become associated with the pronuclei (PN).
