BMP15 and GDF9 immunoreactivity (brown) found in oocyte and cumulus cells of calf (A, C) and cow (B, D) follicles.

- Bmp15 is expressed exclusively in the oocyte soon after primordial follicle recruited.
- GDF9 is the closest relative of Bmp15
