Trophoblast Cell human Chorionic Gonadotropin (hCG)
The differentiation of trophoblast cells in placental villi. Fusion of villous cytotrophoblast cells is controlled by regular human Chorionic Gonadotropin (hCG). Extravillous invasive cytotrophoblast cells produce hyperglycosylated hCG, while fused syncytiotrophoblast cells make regular hCG.
