Trophoblast Cell human Chorionic Gonadotropin (hCG)

The differentiation of trophoblast cells in placental villi. Fusion of villous cytotrophoblast cells is controlled by regular human Chorionic Gonadotropin (hCG).

  • hyperglycosylated hCG- produced by extravillous invasive cytotrophoblast cells.
  • regular hCG - produced by fused syncytiotrophoblast cells.
