Ossification Sequences Mammalian Vertebral Elements (first 11)

  • circles - indicate centra.
  • squares - indicate left and right neural arches.
  • colours - represent the order of ossification.

Hox expression boundaries in the mouse[1] and vertebral segment identity are shown at right.
