(A) Semi-thin, transverse sections of the secretory zone of WT mice revealed pale-staining ameloblasts and an intensely eosinophilic, enamel matrix. The interdigitations of the ameloblast Tomes’ processes were clearly evident in the region where new enamel matrix was forming (arrows).
