Australian Caesarean Section and Instrumental Delivery Rate 2000 - 2009

The caesarean section rate has shown an upward trend over the last 10 years, increasing from 23.3% nationally in 2000 to a peak of 31.5% in 2009. In contrast, the proportion of instrumental deliveries has remained stable at around 11.0% throughout this period.
