This page is a link to undergraduate course class notes at UNSW. These notes include links to laboratories and lecture summaries.
Class notes available on this page include: Vertebrate Development (Science), Neuroanatomy (Science), Beginnings Growth and Development (Medicine), Frontiers in Brain Research (General Students) and historic class notes (Medicine and Science) from earlier years.
These materials are for educational use only by currently enrolled students.
Vertebrate Development A (Science) | Vertebrate Development B (Science) | Neuroanatomy (Science) | Frontiers in Brain Research (General Students 2003) | ANAM1006 Embryology for Medicine 1 (2003) | ANAT2310 Vertebrate Development Lectures (2002) | ANAT1006 Embryology for Medicine 1 (2001) | ANAT2311 Vertebrate Development (1999)
ANAT2300 Vertebrate
Development AThis is a Science course introducing early embryonic development starting from fertilization and going through to formation of key body structures such as head and limbs. The second session course (Vertebrate Development B) will continue on from here to look at how specific organs and systems develop from these early structures.
The pulldown menu below allows access to lectures and handouts for this current (2004) course. Please note that all materials may not have been updated for 2004 and may not appear on the website and/or CD Version until later in year.
These linked materials are for educational use only by currently enrolled students.
ANAT2310
Vertebrate Development BThis is a Science course continuing on from ANAT2300 looking at how specific organs and systems develop from earlier embryonic structures.
These linked materials are for educational use only by currently enrolled students.
External Links available only during Semester. Available in 2 formats, streaming Quicktime or Windows Media, and 2 bandwidths audio 14K or 56K.
NeuroClass links to serial slice images of Carnegie Stage 13/14 and 22 embryos images used in the developmental neuroanatomy class.
Embryo slice images are available as unlabelled, labelled and tutorial. Note that some structures used in this class may not be labelled.
GENM0202 Frontiers in Brain Research (2003)A general education course available to all students as part of their undergraduate degree program.
Note this link is only to Dr Hill's Lecture Stem Cells in Neuroscience within the course.
This course has been replaced by the new Medical Curriculum (2004). In the new curriculum the Birth, Growth and Development (BGD) component will cover some of these topics.
Lecture summaries listed below are available as acrobat documents for viewing
(1 slide/page) or printing (4 slides/page).
Laboratory classes from 2003 listed below contain both Histology and Embryology
labs. These notes may differ substantially from current course materials.
An earlier version of some ANAM1006 Laboratories (embryology only) with very similar content to that listed above. These notes may differ substantially from current course materials.
An older version of session 2 Vertebrate Development B classes. These notes may differ substantially from current course materials.
Some very old Vertebrate Development classes, which I cannot yet bring myself to delete.
