Introduction

This page has selected highpower images of the Carnegie stage 22 embryo showing examples of musculoskeletal development. Also shown are links to related external histology sites (More? WWWHistology).

D4: These images show regions of the forming vertebra and associated connective tissue.

D6:Dura (ventral uniting ligament). Spinal ganglia. Intervertebral foramen. Ependyma of spinal canal. Ventral horn. Dorsal horn. Anterior spinal artery. Centrum of vertebra. Lamina of arch. Note that the dura invests the spinal ganglion and then dorsally fuses with the perichondrium of the neural arch before continuing to the opposite side as the dorsal uniting ligament (not seen in D6)

Developing bone.

UNSW Histology Slides

The following slides are from the UNSW, Department of Anatomy, Histology Slide Set 2003. Slides are numbered according to the Histology Set number. The tissues listed relate to this developing system. Note that most slides are from mature tissues, unless otherwise indicated (More? All Histology slides).
