Introduction
Movie shows a 12 week fetus ultrasound. At the beginning of the movie, embryo
lies with head to left and labels show the head, body and spine.
Movie zooms first to show the jaw (mandible and maxilla) region of the head.
Two bright (white) areas show the forming mandible and maxilla. Note the embryo
hand adjacent to the mouth and jaw movements indicate "sucking" the thumb
or hand.
The second part of the movie shows a measurement of nuchal translucency,
a research interest of Dr A. McLennan for screening of chromosomal abnormality
in the 1st trimester. (an enlargement in this region can be indicative of
abnormality).
