Movie of human head development covering Carnegie stages 15 to 22. The movie starts with the pharyngeal arches (a series of external bulges) which form structures of the head and neck.
External ear- on the side of the head the first 2 arches contribute a series (3 on each) of smaller bulges which will form the external ear. Watch also the changing relative position of these bulges, initially at the level of the neck and, as the head and jaw develop, gradually rising to near their final position on the side of the head.
The stage images have been enlarged to allow details to be seen and are therefore not to scale.
