Introduction

The entire UNSW Embryology site is available on DVD, current Version 6.0 March 2007.

The change from CD to DVD format was required as even the edited content exceded the 700 Mb limit of the CD format. The DVD runs on both Macintosh and Windows computers equiped with a DVD drive. While all internal links will function from the DVD, external links (located on many pages) will not function without internet connection. More information about the getting the DVD, Authors contact details and the site can be found on this current page.

The web version is always the latest version.

The differences between the current DVD Version and the current Web version are listed on UNSW Embryology- Updates 2007.

About the CD Version

The CD version runs on both Macintosh and Windows computers.

Note that the CD version does not include the entire UNSW Embryology site.

The program can run entirely within a web browser with a Quicktime plug-in installed.

Note though that links to external sites, resources, searches, and google site search will only work when computer is connected to the internet.

About the Site

The site has been on the internet since 1997 and the internet version is always the most current version of the site.

In 2004, the entire UNSW Embryology site was moved to a new web address. http://embryology.med.unsw.edu.au/

I have attempted, as far as possible, to make give compliance with existing accessibility guidelines when updating pages.

Version 4.1 uses cascading style sheets which allow screen readers to read the central body content of the page first, followed by the left hand navigation panel, then finally the right hand comments panel. Where not necessary, the comments panel is not present.

All internet updates are listed in a Site Log and internet version may differ from current CD release.

UNSW Students

UNSW Students can get the CD from the Anatomy Department Office on the ground floor Wallace Wurth Building, room G9.

DVD/CD may also include some additional content not published on internet version.

External Students

If you are not at The University of New South Wales, Sydney, Australia and would like a DVD/CD, contact me by email. m.hill@unsw.edu.au

Libraries

I am happy to make available copies of the DVD/CD for Libraries. Please contact me as for international users below.

International Users

This program is made freely available on the WWW for Educational purposes only. WWW access can be limited in some regions and the Program is also "image" and multimedia rich, making access and viewing on the Internet difficult at times. The easiest way of viewing the Program content is by use of the Program CD, which I make available at the cost of production and shipping only. The International cost (2004) of production and shipping is currently $AUD20. I currently have no way of billing across the internet. It is advisable to contact me first by email (m.hill@unsw.edu.au) with postal details.
